Welcome to the epicenter of innovation and creativity. At the heart of 1927 are our founding partners, Andrew and Vanessa, a dynamic duo who have been making waves in the television and film industry for over a decade. With a combined experience of over 15 years, they have honed their skills and expertise to become a formidable force in the media world. Our journey began with a shared vision: to pursue excellence in every project and to push the boundaries of creativity while preserving quality. This relentless drive is at the core of everything we do, ensuring that every project we undertake not only satisfies our clients but also resonates deeply with the audience. We have worked with renowned networks such as Netflix, MTV, TLC, OWN, VH1, and Animal Planet, among others. Each project is a new learning experience, an opportunity to refine our craft and enhance our brand.
Our goals are ambitious yet deeply rooted in our love for our city. We are committed to bringing more television and film production to Houston, contributing to the local economy, and elevating the standard of Texas-made content. We believe in the power of local talent and are dedicated to showcasing it on both national and global stages. At 1927, we are more than just a production house; we are storytellers, visionaries, and innovators. We're here to create not just content, but experiences that inspire, engage, and leave a lasting impact. We blend the art of storytelling with cutting-edge technology and a deep understanding of the media landscape. Whether you're a content creator, a media investor, a seasoned producer, or a network executive, we’re here to bring your visions to life.
Welcome to our world.
Let's create something remarkable together.

Vanessa Phillips is a Puerto Rican Bronx native, military veteran, and accomplished television producer with a deep passion for character-driven and visual storytelling. Her experiences in the Navy and Army taught her discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure—skills she seamlessly transitioned into the entertainment industry. Vanessa’s storytelling is guided by a "don’t tell me, show me" philosophy, always focusing on the internal conflicts of characters as well as a dynamic visual approach.
A proud graduate of the University of Houston, Vanessa achieved her dream of earning a degree at 35 after overcoming significant challenges, including having to drop out of high school after having a baby at 16. Starting her career as a production assistant, Vanessa worked her way up through the ranks, gaining experience across a wide range of formats, from dating shows to ensemble follow-docs. Her cultural background as a Puerto Rican woman from the Bronx fuels her drive to amplify underrepresented voices, ensuring they are not only heard but given the platform they deserve. As the co-founder of House of 1927, she is committed to showcasing Houston’s vibrant creative community while creating spaces for powerful stories that might otherwise go untold.
When she’s not leading projects, Vanessa finds inspiration through travel, exploring the diverse cultures and stories that enrich her work and leadership. She also finds joy in spending quality time with her family and dogs, embracing the moments that ground her and bring balance to her creative pursuits.
